Fr. Joel Nkongolo Dikuba, CMF, is a Claretian Missionary, theologian, educator, and digital communication specialist whose work brings together consecrated life, evangelization, communication, and the opportunities and challenges of the digital age.
Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo and currently based in Rome, Joel has developed an international academic and pastoral journey spanning Africa and Europe. He holds degrees in Philosophy and Theology and a Licentiate/Master in the Theology of Consecrated Life from the Instituto de Vida Religiosa (ITVR) in Madrid. He is currently pursuing doctoral research at the Claretianum in Rome, deepening his expertise in consecrated life and its engagement with contemporary culture.
Alongside his theological formation, Joel brings extensive practical experience in digital communication and evangelization. Since 2019, he has served as a digital missionary within his congregation, managing websites and social media platforms and producing audiovisual content. He has also served as Communication Officer for the Claretians in Congo and, from 2021 to 2024, as Communication Director and Lecturer at the Institute of Consecrated Life in Africa (InCLA) in Nigeria.
Currently, Joel is a member of the General Communication Team of the Claretian Missionaries and of SIGNIS Congo. He also collaborates regularly with Vatican Radio and Vatican News, contributing through articles and interviews on topics including ecclesial communication and artificial intelligence. As an international speaker, he addresses the intersection of consecrated life, mission, communication, and digital culture.
His research and publications further explore the transformation of consecrated life and the impact of the digital world on contemporary missionary engagement, combining theological reflection with a practical understanding of emerging communication environments.
At LuminoComms, Joel brings particular expertise in digital communication strategy, social media, audiovisual storytelling, artificial intelligence and evangelization, ecclesial communication, and communication for religious congregations. His theological background and hands-on digital experience enable him to help Church and mission-driven organizations engage contemporary audiences creatively and responsibly, while remaining faithful to their identity, values, and mission.
